Service Fee
Wisdom charges a Service Fee on bookings made through the platform.
The fee exclusively remunerates Wisdom's intermediation: infrastructure, payment management through specialized providers, support, traceability, own documentation and tools for incidents. It does not remunerate the execution of the work, it is not an insurance premium or a guarantee of quality, satisfaction or compensation for acts of the Provider.
1. How is it calculated?
The standard Service Fee is:
10% of the professional’s payout amount + €0.50, with a minimum of €1.
The payout amount is the amount that corresponds to the professional for performing the service.
If the calculation results in less than €1, the minimum fee of €1 will apply.
The client will be able to view the corresponding price before confirming a booking whenever it can be determined in advance.
2. Who pays the Service Fee?
The Service Fee is paid by the client.
The price of a booking is therefore divided into:
Professional’s payout amount: the amount corresponding to their work.
Service Fee: the amount corresponding to Wisdom.
Wisdom processes collections and transfers through Stripe and retains the applicable Service Fee; The amount of the work corresponds to the Provider. Temporary holds, adjustments, and refunds are handled according to accepted policies. Neither charging jointly nor distributing the amounts makes Wisdom the provider of the work.
3. What is the deposit?
When requesting a booking, the client pays a deposit.
The deposit is not an additional cost separate from the booking price. It normally represents all or part of the Service Fee that would apply to that transaction.
In this way, a small part of the booking is confirmed from the beginning and the remaining amount is paid when the service is completed.
If the booking is cancelled, rejected, or expires, the treatment of the deposit will depend on the conditions explained in the Cancellation Policy.
4. Fixed-price services
When the service has a fixed price, Wisdom knows the professional’s payout amount from the beginning and can calculate the corresponding Service Fee.
The deposit is charged when the request is made.
Once the service has been completed, the client pays the remaining amount.
5. Hourly services
When a service is charged by the hour, the final Service Fee depends on how long the service actually lasted.
If an estimated duration is indicated when booking, Wisdom uses that duration to initially calculate the deposit.
At the end of the service, the actual duration is used to calculate the final price.
If the service lasts longer than expected, the final payment will include the outstanding difference.
If it lasts less, Wisdom will adjust the amount so that the client pays only what corresponds to the final result.
Where no initial duration has been indicated and the price cannot yet be calculated, the minimum deposit of €1 may initially be charged.
6. Services with a price to be agreed
For some services, the price cannot be known in advance.
In these cases, an initial deposit of €1 is charged.
When the service ends, the professional indicates the final payout amount and Wisdom then calculates the Service Fee:
10% of the payout amount + €0.50, with a minimum of €1.
The euro already paid is taken into account in the final amount and is not charged again.
7. What happens if the final price changes?
The Service Fee is calculated using the professional’s final payout amount.
Therefore, it may differ from the amount initially estimated for hourly services or services subject to a quote.
If the final Service Fee is higher than the deposit already paid, the difference is added to the final payment.
If it is lower, Wisdom makes the corresponding adjustment so that the total amount charged is correct.
Before confirming the final payment, the client will be able to view its breakdown where applicable.
8. Wisdom Premium
When the client or professional has a Premium benefit applicable to the booking, the standard Service Fee may be removed.
In this case, a minimum amount of €1 per reservation is maintained, collected as a deposit and computed in the total price. The benefit eliminates the ordinary rate, but is not equivalent to a reservation without any platform cost nor does it include a Service guarantee.
The specific conditions and requirements of this benefit are explained in the Wisdom Premium Policy.
9. Cancellations and refunds
The fact that the deposit has been paid does not mean that it is always lost if a booking is cancelled.
Whether it is refunded depends on the timing and reason for the cancellation.
As a general rule, a cancellation made sufficiently in advance allows the deposit to be fully refunded, while certain last-minute cancellations or client no-shows may make it non-refundable.
The full rules are available in the Cancellation Policy.
10. Recurring bookings
Each session of a recurring booking has its own Service Fee and its own deposit.
Wisdom does not charge all sessions in the series in advance.
The deposit for each new session is charged when that session is generated, normally 72 hours before it begins.
If the service price, Service Fee, or Premium conditions change, the changes will only affect future sessions that have not yet been charged, in accordance with the recurring booking conditions.
11. Price transparency
Wisdom will show separately how much corresponds to the Service Provider’s Service and how much to the platform. The Service Provider is responsible for the invoice for the work, where applicable; Wisdom issues documentation for its Service Fee with Oier Hernanz Arroyo as the owner and Wisdom as the trade name. The platform does not issue invoices on behalf of the Service Provider.
For services where the final amount depends on duration or a final quote, the price displayed before booking may be an estimate.
The final amount will always be calculated using the actual conditions of the booking.
